Tracking assets is 50% of the solution, the other 50% is the ability to understand exactly where those assets are. That's often a challenge in your own back yard, but the reality is aviation's back yard takes in six continents, nearly 2,000 recognised airports and a plethora of 'off-airport' locations. Sat-Map provides a library of mapped airport complexes and will in time also include freight forwarders and end user clients. Sat-Map allows any customer using Sat-Tag tracking to create its own specific geofences. These are clearly defined areas within airport complexes that provide an exact reference in operational conditions. Sat-Map provides a web browser interface which allows a user to scroll around an area using a mouse. The precise coordinates (which Sat-Map calculates) are stored in that user's private library. When a tag reports its position it is no longer latitude & longitude, it is a precise description.
